Scotland’s No. 1 Polo Equipment Supplier The reason we’re so keen to source and develop the best polo gear is that everyone involved in the company is a polo player. We have many years experience playing, coaching and organising so we know that top quality, reliable and good looking gear is important. That’s why we’re continually improving our range, searching out the best from around the world or developing our own in-house products. To date, Powerplay polo equipment is used by at least one player in every Division 1 team and by most Universities. We have sponsored the Scottish University Championship tournament for the last few years and will continue to aid development of the sport at all levels. Whether you're a team or an individual, just email Ali or George to make an enquiry or place an order. |

As the exclusive Scottish supplier of DB polo boats, Powerplay can provide any boats from the Dave Brown range. The Flight II, in Kevlar/Carbon construction, has been our recommended boat recently, however a new version has just come into production. "The Flight provides phenomenal turning speed in addition to extreme sprinting speed. Maneuverability is the key to this design, with the scooped back end and nose allowing effortless turning and dipping under any opponent, providing a competitive edge whether attacking or defending. Designed for paddlers weighing under 85kg (13 stone), the slender front end enables rapid acceleration when sprinting, whilst the rear provides greater stability for shooting and defending. Truly the boat for the dynamic polo player." Our work with Hungarian boatmakers Hodi is ongoing, news will be posted when we have some All polo boat questions should be directed to Ali or George by email. You can also see specs at the DB website. |

Our polo blades are widely used in Scottish polo. We can pretty much guarantee that you'd see our polo blades playing in every Scottish tournament, with most teams sporting at least one pair, and many with all their players using them. As we've said before, polo is a primary interest with powerplay paddles, with all of us being keen polo players. We've been providing polo blades for a few years now so there are a number of different blade types out there of varying size, colour and style. However, we've now secured a relationship with olympic standard blade-maker Brasca, from whom we source, what we have found to be the best polo blades available. We've also designed a specific layup of shaft which is made for us by Killwell Fibretube in New Zeland.
We deal exclusively with Brasca to provide top-spec canoe polo blades. Construction is in Kevlar/Carbon. So far these have proved to be bombproof, with extensive use in the Scottish Div.1 and 2. With a clean, Kinetik style outline and varied grip surface for ball control, these are probably the best polo blade design we've seen. These are available in Min and Max versions, depending on your size or requirements.
Our polo shafts are custom made for Powerplay by New Zeland specialists Killwell. The PoloX design is a prepreg Kevlar/Carbon shaft, allowing enough flex to survive a rough game and has reinforced sections, to maximise the strenght-weight ratio.

| The PoloX shaft has been made exclusively for Powerplay by Rochfort, NZ. The layup was specified by Ali and George after using a multitude of different shaft in Div 1. polo. | |||||||||||

The newly released PowerPlay polo face mask has been specially designed for maximum protection without getting in your way. It's been constructed from Stainless steel, as oposed to plastic coated steel, and the design around the eyes does not place bars directly in front of vision. This has the advantage of improved vision while playing and they don't rust! Two things used to annoy me about the classic plastic covered polo facemasks. Firstly there was always a line in front of one or both your eyes and secondly, after a couple of seasons the plastic cracks as the metal rusts then the mask falls off when the weld fails. So we decided to do something about it. A couple of years ago we started from scratch and designed a mask, not from pre-formed mesh but individually formed from stainless wire and shaped around a former then hand welded and finished with a threaded lug to allow for an internal fitting. What we’ve got is a mask that fits properly, allows maximum visibility, protection and will last many seasons without degrading. Since its launch it has proved a popular choice both with clubs for its longevity and toughness and with individuals due to the superior visibility and good looks.
Our good friends at Lomo, Glasgow, make a selection of excellent gear that we are happy to be able to provide along with our other polo gear. Decks come in a variety of waist sizes. Whether you need one for yourself, or to kit out a full team, just give the guys an email to enquire/order. The oversize waterproof kitbags are also a popular choice, for hauling that soaking kit home, without soaking the car. The bags are big enough to fit a team worth of B.A's, with some room left for the helmets.
